Each and everyone of us loves tea. The tea is an amazing drink which is suitable for every season. Some consumers love it hot and others want it served on the rocks. The tea is healthier than coffee and it is a healthier caffeine bomb than the energy drinks. But, research have been made that showed us that conventional tea brands tend to put some dangerous toxins in their teas such as fluoride and pesticides. And we would all agree that a fluoride filled tea is the last thing that you would drink. You would need to search for the healthier teas. The tea leaves oftentimes are not washed before they are packed in the teabags. So, you get teabags full of herbs which have been treated with pesticides. So, the most popular and non organic tea brands have some carcinogens which are listed as their “natural flavors”.
A study published by the Food Research International shows us that the British people have already exceeded the recommended daily dose of fluoride. Unhealthy levels of fluoride are linked to excessive consumption of tea. Fluoride affects kidneys, bones, and teeth. Herbs absorb it while growing. Cheap brands use the older leaves of the plant. As you may know, older leaves contain higher concentrations of fluoride. A research made by The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on products such as Tetley, Signal, No Name, King Cole, Lipton, Uncle Lee’s Legends of China, and Twinnings. And they got results which were more than disturbing.
Researchers have found that half of all tea brands contain too many toxins. Guess who the worst offenders were…
- Uncle Lee’s Legends of China had 20 types of pesticides, including Endosulfan, known for is detrimental effect on the nervous system
- No Name contains 10 pesticides
- King Cole contains monocrotophos, a soon-to-be-banned ingredient that causes irregular heartbeat and coma
This doesn’t exclude the opportunity that other tea brands contain safe ingredients. Red Rose was the only tea brand that didn’t contain any pesticides.
So, drink white tea instead of your favorite tea. It’s made of young leaves that contain almost no fluoride. Always buy organic, loose leaf tea, and brew it at home.
Check the label, and make sure your tea doesn’t contain any GMOs or added flavors. Remember, most restaurants serve pesticide-rich tea.
