Even the easiest every day tasks can be aggravated by the back pain. The sciatica pain appears all along the sciatic nerve. It starts from your back, and it goes down the butt, and it proceeds in one or in both of your legs.
Some of the most popular symptoms of sciatica pain are numbness, weakness, sharp unbearable aches, and in some cases tingling which appears from the lower back down to the legs.
Combination of the following symptoms is mostly felt by the patients suffering from this pain:
- A tingling or burning feeling in the legs.
- Feeling pain while sitting.
- An intense pain that causes difficulties walking.
- Numbness of the leg, weakness of the leg, or in some cases difficulties moving the leg at all.
- Sharp pain in one side of the buttock or in one of the legs.
The main reason why sciatica pain is appearing is irritation or in some cases it could be the compression in the lumbar spine. It might also be a herniation in the lumbar spine. This is known as the part of the spine that bends inward, and it is located near the lower middle back.
But, the real reason behind this pain is piriformis. The pirofirmis muscle is a small muscle which is located deeply in the buttock area. This muscle spasms and this is why we feel pain in the buttock.
The numbness, tingling and sharp pains in your feet and legs can be a result of this muscle irritating the nerves surrounding it and in that way leading to this feelings.
