As we stated in many of our previous posts on this site the lemons are one of the healthiest ingredients out there. They have numerous health benefits and they are good in giving strength to our body for keeping us healthy.
They are also rich in lemonoids which make them even greater because of the preventive properties of the lemonoids against cancers and tumors.
Research has shown that the actual peel of the lemon has more vitamins (twice as more to be exact) than the fruit itself. And the anti parasitic, anti-cancer, anti fungal, and antibacterial properties make it even better!
We have to admit that all of us love lemons because of the abundance of health benefits that they offer. Because of this reason the lemons can be used as an ingredient in a lot of natural homemade remedies, as an ingredient for doing household chores and it can be also used as an additive in our meals, smoothies, salads, and deserts.
This fruit is better taken unprocessed because when consumed unprocessed it has a lot of detoxifying properties, but once it is juiced it loses a lot of its healing potential and medicinal properties. Dr. Marilyn Glenville, a nutritionist, and expert on women’s health stated:
The peels from various fruits strengthen the immune system and support overall health, but, the use of smoothies instead of juices, is more recommended because they are healthier and contain the peels as well.
But the fact that we cannot neglect is that smoothies made up from lemons are oftentimes bitter and not very tasty to consume, so that is why we believe that the best thing to do in that case is to make lemon water or freeze them. So in the following few paragraphs we are going to tell you how to freeze lemons.
The first thing that you need to do is to wash them and disinfect them in apple cider vinegar. After you have washed them good leave them to dry, and let them stay the night in a freezer. When the morning comes take them out of the freezer and grate them, after that you may add them in a desert, soup, smoothie, baked goods, dishes etc.
Here are some of the health benefits that you can get from them:
The lemon peel:
- Boosts immunity
- Detoxifies the body
- Fights bacteria, worms
- Fights parasites
- Regulates cholesterol
- Prevents cancer
The juice squeezed out of a lemon has a lot of vitamin C, and the peel is from 5 to 10 times richer in vitamins than the fruit itself.
The lemon fruit:
- Detoxifies the kidneys and the liver
- Has a potent anti-bacterial action
- Boosts the immune system
- Regulates high blood pressure
- Prevents asthma
- Soothes inflammation
- Treats depression and stress
- Fights cancer
